On Thursday evening, the Cultural Arts Center in Lancaster was the scene of a Murder Mystery. The murder was that of one of the cruise ship employees, and the investigation was happening at sea. The passengers would have to help the detective interview 5 people of interest to determine who the killer was.
The event was held to help raise funds for the restoration of the Cultural Arts Center. This was a first for the center in two ways. This was the first murder mystery for the center, and the center was full of enthusiastic participants. This also marked the first ticketed performance. Prior to this event, there were no charges to attend. This show saw the change to a paid ticket system.
No one guessed who the killer was. The Charlotte Murder Mystery Company staged the event and their actors played the roles of the people of interest. Headed up nyNPR Radio personality Della Freedman, the evening was a notable success. It would appear this will not be the last mystery event.
