The final seconds score by Danielle Ussery in the game against The Lee Central Lady Stallions gave the Lady Vols the victory 47-45 on Tuesday night in Bishopville. In the Boys game, the Vols put up a valiant struggle, and fell short by 10 points, 56-46 in the second of the evening’s games.
The Lady Vols found a 10-point lead at the end of one quarter 12-2. The Lady Stallions surged before the half to advance by one point at the break. Halftime score was 23-22. The Lady Stallions outscored the Lady Vols by 10 points in the third quarter. The Lady Vols found their ground and slowly advanced against the Lady Stallions, tying the game with 8.0 seconds left. The Lady Vols got the ball and Danielle ran down the court and dropped in a layup to move the score to 47-45, which was the final score.
Danielle Ussery hit 3 field goals, 1 trey, and 10 of 10 free throws for 19 points. Makaylen Crosby had 13 points. Iesha Williams dropped in 6 points. Raegan Brewer added 5 points. Caroline Wrenn had 4 points.

Both the Lady Stallions and the Lady Vols had 24 turnovers. Lee Central had 20 team fouls, AJ had 16 team fouls.
The AJ boys put up a good fight against the Lee Central Stallions and kept pace with the scoring each quarter. Behind by 2 points, the score at the end of the first quarter was 11-9. The score at the break was 27-19. The scoring difference of 8 points extended into the third quarter with a score of 43-31. The Vols began to pull closer in the last quarter but fouls extended the Stallions’ lead to 10 at the end of the game.
Jamie Hinson had 1 field goal, 3 treys and 5 of 7 free throws for 16 points. Morgan Truesdale had 13 points. Joey Walters dropped in 9 points. Griffin Gardner scored 4 points. Shieme Ricks and Josh Adams each scored 2 points.
“First, I am proud of my guys because they fought for four quarters. Every time the score went up, they could have given up, and they didn’t. Lee Central is a good team, and I am proud of my boys for fighting.” Said Danny Wright, coach of the Vols.
