Lady Vols win in Overtime at North Central

The Lady Vols are continuing to win, as they dominated the North Central Lady Knights 53-48 in overtime. The Andrew Jackson Volunteers dropped a close game against rival Knights 59-53.

The Lady Vols came out strong with a 7-point lead 13-9. They continued to push forward to the halftime score 22-11. The third quarter was almost event in scoring between the teams, but the AJ lead continues 32-22. The fourth quarter saw the Lady Knights surge forward to tie the score at end of regulation, 44-44. The overtime period was all AJ, with North Central only racking 4 points to AJ’s 9, final score 53-48

Caroline Wrenn and Makaylen Crosby each scored 10 points. Reagan Brewer and Danielle Ussery Hit 9 points each. Iesha Williams dropped in 8 points. Osha Black added 5 points. Madie Catoe had 2 points.

Kali Tomlin was lead scorer for NC with 20 points. Peyton Holley dropped in 18 points. Madison Dixon had 4 points. Andrea Greene, Amarhi Boykin, and Keuaunte Grant each had 2 points

AJ had 17 team fouls and 20 turnovers, North Central had 14 team fouls and 26 turnovers

Kali Tomlin was lead Lady Knights scorer with 20 points.

Q1 18-7 half 31-23, Q3 46-33, Final 59-53

The Andrew Jackson Vols fell behind early as the North Central Knights posted 18 points to AJ’s 7 at the end of the first quarter. AJ struggled back to outscore the Knights by 3 points to gain some ground back. The halftime score was 31-23. The Knights came out strong to work to a third quarter score of 46-33 in their favor. The Vols fought to gain 7 more points than the knights in the final quarter, but it was not enough. The Knights took the victory 59-53.

Jamie Hinson lead the AJ scoring with 18 points with 2 field goals, 4 treys, and 2 of 3 free throws. Jalen Robinson dropped in 14 points. Shieme Ricks added 7 points. Josh Adams, Joey Walters, and Morgan Truesdale each added 4 points. Cam Vincent added 2 points.

Tyreek Jenkins and Markell Portee were lead scorers for Knights with 14 points each. Avante Reynolds brought 12 points. Esteban Rodriguez had 11 points. Dunham and Jamel Jones added 4 points each.

AJ had 17 team fouls and 21 turnovers, North Central 12 team fouls and 9 turnovers.
